Job Preview at a Glance:

The Vocational Coordinator, designs, implements, and facilitates vocational services. Creates, revises, and disseminates information and trains personnel on vocational policies and procedures in response to mandates, standards, and to comply with funding source mandates. Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with local employers and community providers to maximize the opportunities for persons in services to enter the labor force. This position reports to a Program Director.

Location & Schedule:

This position is a Monday- Friday schedule, flexibility to work during clinic operating hours reporting to our Flagstaff Outpatient Services.

Pay: $18.50 hourly

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides and oversees the implementation of a full range of vocational services, including resume development, job search support, and interviewing techniques
  • Prepares and presents job readiness activities to persons in services and provides “train the trainer” opportunities to other personnel
  • Provides comprehensive support through in-home and/or community-based intervention to adults
  • Assesses consumers in accordance with established policies and procedures and clinical protocols
  • Provides support and information, education or guidance to consumers and support system members concerning issues of treatment planning, advocacy, and medication management
  • Monitors mental status of consumers and response to treatment plans through face-to-face contact, and updates treatment plans as needed
  • Provides face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention
  • Conducts vocational groups and job clubs
  • Provides information to consumers and family members concerning community resources and links to other services
  • Arranges for transportation for consumers and family members for community services as needed
  • Coordinates with employers and agencies to identify job opportunities and promote employment of job-seeking clients
  • Works with local service providers, case managers, and employers to advocate for and link persons in services with vocational opportunities
  • Notifies direct supervisor of actual or potential challenges with consumers; i.e., lack of participation, decompensation, and crisis
  • Transitions consumers to appropriate level of care upon conclusion of treatment

 

Education & Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement consists of a 21-year age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral health field (related or unrelated) plus one year of relevant experience in behavioral health. Any combination of education and experience totaling 5 years is acceptable.
  • Required to maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license and pass motor vehicle screening for insurance purposes in order to transport clients.
  • Must have fingerprint clearance issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or be eligible to receive within eight (8) weeks of hire.
