We are currently seeking a Speech Therapist to join our Southwest Autism Center of Excellence (SACE) program.

The Speech Pathologist position will provide speech therapy, diagnostic speech evaluations, and speech treatment to children, adolescents, and their families.  Provides home and office based assessments and services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), treatment plan development, as well as supervision of speech therapy services. 

Duties:

  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.

  • Treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.

  • Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.

  • Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines.

  • Prepare future professionals in colleges and universities.

  • Supervise and direct public school or clinical programs.

  • Engage in research to enhance knowledge about human communication processes and develop new assessment and treatment methods that may lead to more effective outcomes.

  • Provide counseling and consultative services.

  • Train and supervise support personnel

Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement consists of a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
  • Current Certification/licensure in the state of practice.
  • At least one year of experience working with children in applying speech assessments, creating and implementing speech plans, and instructing learners preferred.
  • Experience working with children and young adults in school settings preferred but not required..
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking preferred.

Must be eligible and/or have a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (as required per program requirements)
