Job Preview at a Glance:      

The Lead Driver provides transportation for consumers to attend appointments and other outings that meet program requirements. The Lead Driver assist with Front office duties to include front office check-in and check-out, scheduling, verifying medical insurance, and scheduling and confirming appointments. This position reports to a Front Office Supervisor.

Location & Schedule:

This position is a Monday- Friday 10am-7pm schedule, flexibility to work during clinic operating hours, reporting to our Lake Havasu City Clinic. 

Pay: Pay $15.51 hourly

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides safe, timely transportation and maintains appropriate staff /client communications and relationships
  • Assists consumers getting to and from the vehicle
  • Obeys all traffic laws
  • Adheres to agency policies and procedures including but not limited to Vehicle Operations Policy (SBH 1 E 11 00), Approved Driver Procedure (SBH 1 E 11 01), and Use of Agency Vehicles (SBH 1 E 11 03)
  • Maintains current training requirements
  • Monitors and document safety/mechanical concerns daily and reports concerns to supervisor and Risk Management
  • Takes a lead in ensuring routing tasks are kept on schedule
  • Assists in the oversight and monitoring of driver efficiency and effectiveness, providing ideas and recommendations geared towards ongoing improvement
  • Confirms appointments one to two days prior for all medical, counseling, and intake appointments.
  • Calls to reschedule appointments when clinical staff are out unexpectedly.
  • Performs general clerical duties for the clinic as requested/assigned by Front Office Supervisor and/or Program Director
  • Greets clients and check in/out of appointments.
  • Answers all incoming phone calls by third ring.

 Education & Qualifications:

  • The vehicle driver shall be a minimum of 22 years of age
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Must pass a 3 year Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to read a map or use electronic GPS system to locate destinations
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have fingerprint clearance issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or be eligible to receive within eight (8) weeks of hire.
  • Bilingual preferred.
