Position: Financial Data Analyst
Job Duties:
- Assist in the collection, reporting and analysis of financial data including charts, tables, and other exhibits of SBHS performance against historical forecast, and strategic planning results to facilitate decision making.
- Analyze and test the data contained in new or existing information systems and utility programs using Microsoft SQL.
- Provide statistical reporting to management on a consistent basis including clinical/outcome reporting.
- Design and implement new or revised methods that effectively meet the needs of the company.
- Assist in the development of financial processes and claims data analysis
- Create company reports using Power BI, Excel, among others and ensure all reports are well documented and up to date.
- Assure data integrity throughout data systems and reports as well as notifying supervisors of all upgrades and modifications made to the systems.
- Troubleshoot application problems using Jira, test software, collaborate with software vendors, and provide application support to all application users.
Job Requirements:
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Financial Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, or closely related. Employer will accept an advance degree if in the same field.
Experience Requirements: 24 months of experience in job offered, Data Analyst, or closely related.
Special skills requirements:
- Conduct data analysis, identify issues, present results to management to improve business processes and decisions, as well as working with applications to remedy them.
- Create and maintain process automation related to data maintenance using Python/R.
- Assist in the development of financial processes and data analysis using Microsoft SQL, Excel, among others.
- Review pricing models and methodologies using quantitative techniques, such as statistical analysis and scenario-based forecasting.
- Design and develop multiple reports, interfaces, and consequently independently automate the process using SAS/SQL.
- Validate high-priority data quality rules using SQL queries in databases such as Netezza, present issues found to risk and technology departments, and successfully correct the rules.
- Analyze discrepancies between development and production datasets in a Hadoop-based relational database, focusing on population, attributes, and values to develop reconciliation solutions.
