Southwest Behavioral & Health Services is a large and growing, non-profit community-based provider of behavioral health services with locations throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area, rural Maricopa County, Gila, Pinal, Mohave, Coconino, and Yavapai Counties. We are a well-established voice in the community with more than 115 sites, over seven hundred employees, and 40 years’ experience.
We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to join our Bullhead City Residential Program, Marina Pointe. This is a full-time 40 hour per week position and flexibility with work schedule is a must.
In this position you will provide screening, assessment, treatment planning, life skills, pre-vocational training, case management, crisis intervention and individual and group counseling services to seriously mentally ill (SMI) consumers in a residential environment. Responsible for contributing to and creating a recovery based environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs direct service to supported housing consumers including individual, group, life skills training, behavior management, and crisis intervention.
Engages in solution focused, strengths based behavioral health and clinical services that contribute to quality client care and effective treatment.
Collaborates with clinical teams and case managers to advocate for the best interest of the consumer.
Develops treatment plans for consumers in conjunction with psychiatrist and/or case managers.
Provide assessments and crisis intervention.
Engage in discharge planning and treatment team meetings.
Document services provided according to SBH standards on a daily basis.
Accompany, supervise, and assist consumers.
Plan and organize activities and groups.
Assist consumers with community integration.
Take vital signs of consumers and communicate results to director of nursing or on call prescribers.
May need to cover evening/weekend hours and be "on call" as needed.
Education & Qualifications:
Minimum requirements consists of a 21-year age
A High School Diploma/GED plus four years of relevant behavioral health experience OR
An Associate's Degree plus two years of relevant behavioral health experience OR
A Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work or Psychology plus one year of relevant behavioral health experience.
Bachelor's Degree in a non-related field with one year of relevant behavioral health experience will also be considered.
An equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to behavioral health totaling four years is acceptable.
Must have fingerprint clearance issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or be eligible to receive within eight weeks of hire.
Required to maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and pass motor vehicle screening for insurance purposes in order to transport clients, based upon needs of the program
