We are seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Child/Adol Psychiatrist to be apart of the Southwest Autism Center of Excellence (SACE) program. This position offers a flexible schedule (Monday - Friday)! Starting salary, DOE. A majority of the population served will be Child/Adolescence but this provider will also be expected to see some Adult population.
The Southwest Autism Center of Excellence (SACE) is a partnership between SB&H, Southwest Human Development, U of A College of Medicine, Midwestern University, Mountain Park Health Center and Sunshine Pediatrics; and will serve in a specialized whole-health capacity to focus on the physical and behavioral health of children, families and adults living with or at risk of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, this position has primary responsibility for the medical and psychiatric functions providing treatment of Autistic Spectrum Disorders across the lifespan in an outpatient clinical setting. This includes engagement, comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, patient education, risk assessment, and discharge planning. Provides general psychiatric services and is responsible for ensuring that the psychiatric services are in compliance with licensing requirements and as defined in the ADBHS Covered Services Guide. Maintains expected level of productivity goals. Maintains appropriate medical chart management and documentation with particular emphasis on PCP coordination of care, laboratory, and vitals compliance standards. Collaborate with Program Director in delivering program specific services. Provide opportunities for clinical case staffings to OP site staff as needed. Is directly responsible to and supervised by the Chief Medical Officer and/or Medical Director for all clinical issues and to the Program Director for all administrative issues.
- Graduation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Must be expected to obtain Board Certification within 3 years of hire date.
- Completion of an approved Child/Adolescent fellowship.
- Possession of a current DEA certificate and medical license to practice medicine in the State of Arizona (or eligibility to obtain an AZ license).
- Able to see and treat children (all ages) as well as adults.
- Demonstrated experience in assessment, planning and utilization of psychotropic medications in accordance with State and Federal regulations and best practices.
